By using the rear fit profile, the length of the "tail" is shortened.
My car fits in the profile both ways, it's roof profile is odd, it is like half a globe.
I am thinking of using the rear fit profile to make a shorty Kambak with, so you know where i a coming from.
Getting to the steeper angle right away will make the kambak perform better, i think..

There are some images of VW's 3rd-gen 1-liter car online.This roofline is the 'faster' profile.If you pull the curvature down any sooner than what VW has done,you'll have separation.
We have a lot of latitude in what we can do with the front of a car,but not so for the rear end.
You can't cheat back there.This is why the 'Template' was introduced.
Follow VW and you'll be okay.
