Does your school have any security cameras facing the parking lot? If so, park within the view of one (maybe ask a faculty member if you can find out the views if you can't tell).
Also, try to keep the tail from being in the way. If its sticking out of the stall, it'll be more likely something will happen to it, whether intentional or accidental.
