To be fair, breathing and/or EGR mods will affect a diesel in quite a different way than a gasser. I would agree that a CAI, an EGR delete, etc. may not help (and may even hurt) a gasser's fuel economy.

The reason being is that most gassers are throttle-controlled to a fixed air-fuel ratio and naturally aspirated.
