Measure for clearance first. The 6.2 & 6.5 GM Diesel are taller and wider. You'll have to relocate the motor mounts up. The oil pan might need some modification too. Had to notch my oil pan in the back to clear the crossmember in my '91 Caprice Wagon 6.2 conversion. With my mounts, I'll bolt them to the engine and set it in loose. Have the motor mounts welded on to the crossmember after the trans is bolted in. It can be done, and if you can find a cheap 6.2 and an overdrive 700R4 or 200R4 it'd be sweet.
