As for tires for MN winters.. I don't run winter snow tires ever , just a decent set of all season's do fine even on my truck.. biggest tip to driving in snow and ice.. SLOW DOWN.. and learn how to fix any slips that happen and make it a habit reaction instead of a knee jerk reaction.

Lived in MN all my life.. its funny, even Minnesotans every year forget how to drive in the snow and ice come the first snow fall .. cars in ditches every where.. I don't get it .. its like in 6 months they forget what snow is/or was, now if the plows arn't out then having snow tires may be some help..

In Mn here they put so much salt on the roads to kill any ice that forms.. the winter roads are pretty decent.. especially if your in a large city.. Im in rural MN so we don't always get the plows out before we venture out.. but i don't use snow tires just all seasons
