Yes, It is hollow. My secret for rapid fabrication is to limit the amount of cutting
and shaping of the foam. Notice the top surface of the clip is flat (totally un shaped).
Then, for the front wrap around, i relief cut the foam from the back so as to allow it to
bend to the curve that you see in the photo. Note the relief knerf cuts are later\
backfilled with expansive gorilla glue to restore the full strength of the foam.
