Those might be the same engine. I think my Civic's VTEC is PFI - afraid I'm not totally certain though, and it's out of town so I can't double-check for you. VTEC and PFI are good things for mileage, IMO. PFI means a little less fuel in the manifold when you shutdown (at lights or EOC).
