I'm really looking forward to reading this in depth. Have to get up at 0400 to help move a rig out near Cotulla. But what you've done here -- with variables -- is, IMO, central to best use: predictability!!

My very first thought about morning versus evening is the greater oxygen content in the air. Certainly seems to apply here in almost-hell-heat-land. Plus the driver is a little less jagged than he would be at days end.
