So, I have a 2001 Celica and I beleive the syncro in 3rd is starting to go out. If I have to rebuild/replace the 5 speed transmission is there a better geared transmission? corolla?

I know there must be other transmissions that will bolt to the 1zzfe engine with a better FE ratio but I am having a hard time finding any information about the gear ratio in the celicas or anyother vehicle. Any help would be appreciated.
