Wow, that MR2 is in good shape!
Exact same transmission as the 1NZs, which I hear can be picked up in junkyards for 300 bucks? If you find a high mileage one doing that swap might be worth it, since they bolt straight on, though you probably need a custom motor mount, and the new ECU. The little 4age in there produces only a little over 80Nm/L at its power peak, not the most efficient engine. Ditching the iron block would save quite a bit of weight.
