I didn't know that the Energi/PriusV's lower rating was due to a gearing change. Makes sense, though.
It is interesting to note that the Fusion Hybrid has the exact same city/hwy/combined rating than than the C-Max. You would think the highway rating would be better with a sedan vs. a hatchback.
