My red vx was chalky and faded bad. Polishing compound and a wax job 10000000 times better. Seriously. Like 2 hours work and you wouldn't think it's the same car. And yes a rust free unmolested cx should pull good money. Take your time and stand firm and you could get close to that price. Heck just a rolling shell no motor interior or trans with no rust is 1500$plus. Where I'm at. And 40-45 mpg is always a plus. Buff it out it will shine.
