I remember back in the early `80s, when Nissan(still Datsun at the time) first introduced the Sentra. They offered a fuel efficient model with a black, injected foam rear lip spoiler. I remember this because my Dad & I were looking at the Sentra back then. I looked for a pic of it to no avail.

Kamei used to market beautiful spoiler and airdam packages.They were wind-tunnel tested,and proven to really deliver a little extra mpg.I guess the carmakers caught on and started making their own really nice stuff.I still see a few BMWs driving around with the Kamei stuff and I think I've seen what you and your dad saw with the Sentra.Today,I think the cars have higher trunklids,which basically do what spoilers used to do.
