That's right. If you want to follow the direction of lift on a Bug just follow the direction of the radio antenna. That's part of the reason for the bad Cd: not only is the design generating lift, it's doing it at a rearward angle. This is the reason for the automatic spoilers at the top of the rear window on Turbo Beetles.
