It's a crap shoot. Spend 5k + fix it or use it for parts. You can build 4 with it. Front end, each side, rear end. You still have the whole powertrain and interior left over and 4 repaired cars, but it takes time and a good deal of money tied up for a while. I have also fixed water damaged cars, and most of the parts you need are the ones the salvage yards never sell.
Only thing my Fiesta has needed in 11k miles is to have the accent light switch plugged in, was not done at the factory, they (body shop) never touched the dash or console. An oil change at 5k and 12.5k, next one at 20k.
The estimate on that Prius seems low at less than 6k. Would have liked to look it over when it was still showing the water level and type (salt or fresh, makes a big difference).
Fixed an 82 300 SD Benz once that rolled into the Atlantic Ocean off the owners boat ramp. $8500 30 years ago.
