It wouldn't surprize me if some of the owners "accidentally" let their cars get flooded. You know, it's old and needs a lot of work so leave the sucker where the water will get to it and get paid on a comprehensive claim.

I'll bid on it tomorrow, but my buddy (who owns the body shop that will buy it) doesn't think it will go that cheap. Stopped by the Toyota dealer today and the most likely damage is to the air bag modules and wiring harness as well as the pretensioners for the front seat belts.

If I get it then I will tear it down to see exactly where the water level was and whether it was fresh or salt water. Can't do any thorough inspection prior to the sale date, but as I posted earlier it would be worth my bid amount even if I had to part it out.
