passenger trucks
I think it is time for me to start building a little lunatic assylum where the inside is the outside.

Subaru recently decided to modify the new Outback wagon AND sedan so they would qualify as "trucks" under NHTSA fuel economy rules.
I think this sort of malarky (and not just by Subaru) follows naturally from having an entire nation of children, who supress democracy for millions of people to get dirt cheap fuel, who want more power and bigger vehicles and no responsability at all for high fuel consumption. It simply becomes too easy for the promise makers, to tell the voting cattle that there is no need to compromise and change their behaivour, that everything will be solved by passing laws that mandate the introduction of more fuel efficient vehicles onto a market that has zero motivation to buy them.
