I got a bit more work done this week. On the structural side, I got the rear door framing glued/installed into the shell. this will all be fiberglassed in and will give me something to screw brackets for the rear door into.

And finally got the final coat of paint on the side panels for the bed extension. These are supposed to be factory color, but probably would match better if my truck hadn't been siting in the sun for the last 13 years... :P I'm pretty happy w/ how they came out, anyhow. Had to run a couple space heaters and open the door to the house w/ the heater blasting (before painting) to get the garage warm enough to work in.

I think I posted before that I had bought some rattle can factory color stuff locally. It has to be used with clear coat, and is pretty easy to spray. Most important is all the body-work and sanding done before-hand. Block-sand and primer over 9000 times and then wipe the surface down with tac cloth.

The color sprays on in a few coats... just have to make even passes and make sure to press the nozel down all the way to to get full force out of the can.

For the clear coat, start with at light coat, and then get progressively heavier with it, giving about ten minutes between coats. After a couple coats, it can be sprayed on heavy enough that the surface looks wet with it, and the paint will smooth together as it hardens.

This Video is really helpful:
