I lucked out on the job I have been doing for the last couple months. The bicycle commute is perfect. 5 miles each way, mostly flat. Mostly downhill on the way, uphill on the way back mainly up my driveway. 2 lane country roads. Only about 1000ft on a busy 2-laner. Sometimes the wind can be bad. that has been the biggest challenge so far. I have to leave 10 minutes early on a really windy day. I do landscaping so I can show up to work sweaty. Am loving the bike commute and the money it saves. got the michelin 26 by 1.5 smooth tires for lower rolling resistance. would recommend them for anyone commuting with a mtn bike.
