Driving a Leaf instead of an average 23mpg car save you ~$17,000 per 100K miles you drive. And that is if you pay for your electricity. If you put solar panels on your roof (which about 1 years worth of gasoline money) then you can cut your electric bill by 30-70% *and* have your driving included in that.

You can drive an electric car (2-3 cents/mile) for less than the cost of regular maintenance on an ICE powered car (~3.3 cents/mile).
