For economy, this would probably work better on a diesel. There are quite a lot of CAI vs. WAI discussion here on the forum.
Since you obviously don't mind spending some bucks on your car if it makes it go, have you considered replacing the stock battery with a lithium-iron-phosfate (LiFePo4)? That could potentially remove 10kg of "fat" from the front axle of the car (better weight distribution, improved handling and acceleration, better fuel economy, more awesomeness!).
