The bolt is stuck inside the alternator. It's the bolt the alt pivots on. I don't feel like dripping PB Blaster on my DSLR so here's a stock photo.

The bolt goes through the side of a bracket, through the bottom hole in the photo, then through the other side of the bracket. The pulley is on the driver's side.

The passenger (transmission) side of the bolt has a 24mm square head which is very close to the bracket, making it impossible to get a wrench on from below. The drivers (v-belt) side has dat nut*. Well, my nut is off but I was hammering on the end of bolt and now the bolt end is mucked up.

The main problem is that the bolt seems to be rusted to the inside of that hole. When I pivot the alternator, the bolt moves with it and vice versa.

Going to get my dad out there tomorrow and we'll put a torch on it. If that doesn't work it looks like I won't have a core to take back (sawzall time).

Here is a D16 block. The bracket and through-bolt on the bottom left are of interest here. Of course, the pulleys are on the driver's side so when I scoot underneath the car this is roughly the orientation I see.

*Tried to in-line link Eazy-E's Gimme Dat Nut, but it didn't work. So just imagine it.
