The drawback with the lower baffle is that (like most vehicles with them) you have to be careful parking up to a curb. More-so with cars, but take a walk along these curbs and see just how many people park right up to them. Most just rub but keep an eye out and you'll soon see just how many have been torn backwards and damaged.
Oh... and clearly can't be bothered to wipe up the spilled fuel from carelessly topping off...
