From what I can find online, that's not the fault of the DCT... well not all of it... the DCT itself is only a 22-25 pound weight penalty, depending on the bike. Yeah, I know weight matters on a bike, but that's weight low down, so it's not a total disaster. And it really makes things simpler for novices like me.
Car DCTs are worse... Ford's dual-clutch with the wet clutch is worth almost a hundred pounds of extra weight.
