Now a few more q's....
For the corners of the front section above the front doors, should I run an angled taper from the top of the door to the outside bottom of the sleeper? Or should I just run a straight taper from the front to the back on the sleeper and button it up flat on the bottom?
If you're talking about the downward-facing triangle above the door; just keep it simple. The biggest gain available would be to radius the vertical edge behind the cab doors, but you're constrained by the entry door on the curb side.

As for the pop up roof vents, should I make a quick n dirty ramp up/ramp down from them?

Oh, one other question...
None of the pictures you've posted so far show the top of the vehicle. Are you thinking of replacing or supplementing the opening vents? Anything you do will have a very short window for pay-back, maybe do nothing?

'Dirt cheap' means whatever you find laying around you. I'd look for the fairing off a motorcycle, replace the handlebars with longhorn steer horns and graft it onto that new sloped front end. Then maybe a snap-on tonneau cover behind that?
