They keep promising us a battery breakthrough - for 20 years now. Somehow I don't think it is going to happen. Batteries are getting better, but only incrementally better. The getting cheaper part is the key for the EV's success, but at current battery prices it just isn't worth it.

A BEV will only ever be a second vehicle for most people, despite what Tesla is trying to prove (and don't get me wrong - I pine for a Model S is the worst way possible!!), but who wants to spend $35K on a second vehicle?
