The 8-valve 60hp didn't have more than 80Nm, but the high-compression 71/79hp versions had close to 90Nm. Well, the higher internal frictions might kill some of the efficiency

The 4cyl 1.0L was only available in Brazil, Uruguay and maybe in Argentina. Not even in South Africa...

My Corsa C has the latest 1.0 12v engine with twinport system, two O2 sensors but if you ask me 5,5l / 100 is to much for this engine, it must be possible to get it somehow lower. Because my friend in a Toyota Yaris 1.0 16v manages to make 4,5l / 100.

The Yaris is visibly smaller than a Corsa, I have seen few in Uruguay and even few ones with Uruguayan plates in my hometown during the summer.
