2K in freight and 20+ mpg over 793 miles
Hello folks,
I picked up a load of freight going to Connecticut weighing just under 2k Lbs. Heading through the hills of Pennsylvania, with a swear word or 2 as I passed Punxsutawney, I was able to achieve 22.6 mpg for 250 miles, 20+ mpg for the rest as an average on a 793 mile run. I-75 to I-80 to I-81 to I-380 to I-84 to CT-8 and to the delivery in Bristol, CT.
Technique:
Speed ran 60 mph on the flat, 55-70 on the downhills, no slower than 55 on the uphills. Driven at night, 30-36 degrees F. Manually placed in N for the downhills. 87 octane fuel, 4.0L V6 in a Nissan Cargo Hurse (Van).
Toot...Toot!
Thanks to this website and it's many posters with techniques!
