What, then, was the purpose of your Original Post? If you would like to have one, why aren't you going to buy one? If you got a $1000 TDI (you won't) and got +50mpg better than your Taco (you won't) it would pay for itself in 12,500 miles @ $4/gallon. How many miles do you drive in a year?
I'm not going to buy one, but I'm willing to talk about them. That's what we do here.
