Thanks for asking. I like materials science (flip-flop paints, quantum well catalysts and all that). Since I posted I've been following up leads from the Alumacorr vs. Poly-metal link.
Alumacorr is apparently more fragile. Right now, it looks like
Grimco - Substrates: Max-Metal, MAX-metal HD. It's like Polymetal, but has 30mm aluminum skins.
Their
Grimco - Substrates: Max-Metal, MAX-metal is reportedly less expensive than Polymetal.
They have other interesting products:

As for what would I do with it? If I could afford mass quantities:
Brushed aluminum on the outside, white on the inside. Edges are glued and riveted into aluminum H-channel.
Else boat-tails, bellypans and fenderskirts.
