I had the same situation with Berta, because BMW provides OBC (On Board Computer) which shows you many data from the car like average speed, range, fuel consumption etc. But I've decided to use MPGuino. Why? It's simple - I'm a DIY person and I love the open source project that i can change on my own. I can add any code I like to it and get new features in a matter of minutes, hours, days. And after putting Guino into an instrument cluster it just more convinient to use it without looking away from the windscreen to the usual place where OBC is installed.

But saving fuel requires concentration, self-control and cleverness. It's a challenge with the nice effect of saving you money that you can use for other more important things."
