It doesn't seem so hard to implement either a Prius-ish parallel-hybrid drive or a serial-hybrid layout, like the giant mining trucks, into the naval industry. I've also seen reports about Malaysian ships turning to LNG as a replacement for the heavy crude oil.
So, what should we expect for the next time? Honda to come with an Insight-based IMA outboard setup?
