I'd also expect the truck to get better mileage. I recently talked with an old man who owns a Diesel-powered Volkswagen Saveiro (Fox coupé-utility) fitted with the 1.6L IDI and he told me 50MPG were the usual mileage he achieved, without any eco-mod, altough it was fitted with a full-height bed cap.
