Yes, that was a concern at first, but I drove around for a while with the switch somewhere else and noticed that I don't touch the button on the shifter unless I want to. It also makes a good stress reliever to mash the button when somebody is driving crazy around me... Pew pew, get off the road!! But with it hooked up I can't do that anymore
