What do you have your VE RPM set at? It seems I need to adjust mine down a bit from the 4400 that it comes set at and have gone down to 4100 (for a year) and then to 3800 (today).

Mine seems to be close, but under reports by 2 mpg at 4100 for my normal driving (lots of coasting) but on my recent trip to Fla it read WAY under (4.5 mpg) what it's normal average reading is.

One observation about the trip-
Starting atmospheric pressure was 28.8"HG and ending pressure was 29.9"HG.
Used a Kestrel meter to read conditions. The UG reported 28.65"HG at startup and did not change until I re-started after filling up, then it reported 29.94"HG.

Now, with the increase in pressure, the low end was much improved and I could cruise easily in town, and even accelerate at under 1 gph. This is MUCH different than usual in the normal day to day pressures I see.

How much different would your effective VE be with a 1" change in mercury?
