The Fit basically is the new Civic Wagon, circa 1990. I parked beside one once, and they were amazingly similar except for the box vs blob difference. The extra 200 lb is more than offset by more engine power, and I'm sure most of that is safety stuff. It's reasonable, unlike some cars that weigh half a ton more today.
