swapped the electric drive to a different frame that was in much better shape, has a title, good tires, working speedometer, shiny paint and nice chrome.
I still need to get plates on that motorcycle and I don't like front fairings so I removed it, the front fairing had some weird repairs as well from being crashed it looks like, so I removed it and need to fix up a head light and front turn signals (I have them, just need to install them) and I need to hook up the key switch and some other stuff on the wiring harness.
It'd been 3-4 years sense I got the first the frame that I did the mock up on so it wasn't very fresh in my mind, but two of us were able to pull the gas engine out in about 50 minutes and pulling the electric drive took about 20 minutes and 30 more to re-install it in it's new frame, everything lined up perfectly and within about 2 hours from start to finish I was ridding it down the road.
Weight turned out to be closer then I had figured before, 440 pounds give or take 10 pounds for both the gasoline version and electric, the gas was dry weight (12 pounds or so of oil and coolant had already been removed) so even with the same dry weights I'm pretty happy because the fuel tank being full can make it top heavy.
I didn't test the full top speed because I didn't have my helmet along, I did get going up to 50mph on the short stretch of road tho and felt like I had more to go.
