By no means is my hacked adapter the most suitable solution!
There are lots of other options out there, including the ones posted above. In my case, I didn't feel like waiting to have one shipped, so I figured out how to do it with what I had on hand. I'm slightly insane that way, spending way more time and effort (and sometimes $$$) to reinvent the wheel!
But hey! I have tons of fun doing it, and it is also furthering my self-education in electronics.
