So, my dad tried to help out a friend, and my dad estimated that it cost him a total of $100,000, including this truck, which he bought a few years old, and the friend drove a hundred thousand miles instead of completing projects for my father, then got a DUI, so Dad took it back, and I am using it, at least for the summer. Yay, 14/19!

I have not driven it much, I just hosed out the back seat and floor, then gave them a good scrubbing. It was very muddy. This morning I unscrewed the back of the tailgate to see if I could get it to work. The friend must have dropped something heavy on it because it was a little flattened, with the front and back bulging, and the tailgate would not open. A friend recommended putting a 2x4 between the tailgate and my hammer, but it seemed ineffective. I have a small hammer and the wood might have been too thick. I used a rubber mallet, which worked great in the back, but left the front looking much worse. However, it works!

I need to take this to a bodyshop

So, I need to get estimates from body shops for flattening out the metal. I offered to try to fix it and my dad said that he wanted someone working on it who knew what they were doing. The dealership wanted $1,600 to replace the tailgate and paint the rest to match.

I guess that either the friend or my dad broke the handle, trying to open the tailgate. If I am not mistaken, a new one costs $30.97. This is it, right? 2008 Ford F-150 Tailgate Handle | FordParts.com

It is weird because I love how much leg room I have, but otherwise, I hate how large and unwieldy the truck is. The wheels do not look too bad, I just need to check the pressure. I used my bike pump, but some of the tires did not seem to go higher than 40 PSI, while two were at sixty.

Sidewall maximum is 60 PSI.

The forties were on opposite corners, as were the sixties.

The cigarette\charger outlet does not work, nor does the OBD-II connector, so I cannot use my Ultragauge, and things would be complicated if I had a CEL. I have lawn edging that I bought for Bacon. Do you think that I could attach it with: 3M VHB Heavy Duty Mounting Tape 5952 Black, 3/4 in x 15 yd 45 mil: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

I would love to make an aerocap for this. However, I just do not know for how long I will be driving the truck, although my dad will have it indefinitely--he owes way more than it is worth!

I have actually thought about selling Bacon and giving Dad the money to help pay off the truck.

The other problem with an aerocap is that I really do not want to reduce visibility!
