SCii is well worth it, in my opinion. UG is good, and has its pros- but for a hard to articulate reason, I still love the SCii considerably more.
If you are interested in potentially "tuning" you could buy a tuner. I know they are very popular with the Mustang crowd, I imagine the Civic group has a similar following with them. (Usually tuners have the same functions)
