Hearses?

Many of you might have wondered about a more fuel-efficient hearse which retained some dignity. I've seen that Ford even offered the gas-guzzler 6.8L V10 as an option for the Town Car in its funeral package, which sounded quite dumb when even the regular V8 could be outperformed by some V6.

Well, in the rest of the world nowadays it's not so unusual to find hearses with 4-pot engines instead, including many engines under 2.0L such as the 1.4L flexfuel used in these Brazilian Chevy-based hearses.

White hearses are not exclusive to children and virgin women anymore

I like this one because of the panoramic windows which guard some resemblance with European hearses.

Since newer station-wagons are getting rare locally, coupé-utilities have been the most usual base for hearses. The modular body extension and canopy are made out of fiberglass instead of sheetmetal, and are easily reversible when the vehicle gets retired from the funeral service.
