Don't worry or beat yourself up over this. Patience and consistency is king. There are so many variables influencing things you can not control them all on one tank. Relax, run a bunch of tanks with focus. Your average will climb slowly. Otherwise it might not be valid. If you see spike in someones chart it was probably an anomaly that will get averaged out. My rule (for me is) You can't claim a new peak MPG number until you replicate it a few times.
