Quote:
Jaray known name by which the bodies were designed by Austrian engineer Paul Jaray.
Contributor's Count Zeppelin for several years, Jaray became the first car designer to deal so rigorously scientific aerodynamics applied to automobile, J shape .
From a long series of experiments on models executed around 1920, in partnership with engineer Klemperer , the wind tunnel Luftschiffbau Zeppelin (Zeppelin Aircraft Construction), in Friedrichshaven, Jaray elaborated the theory of aerodynamics for land vehicles.
Since the first copies, as vehicles presented in Berlin in 1922, cars built according to these conceptions demonstrated the validity of the research and studies conducted by Austrian designer.
In the photo, two cars of the 1930s bodied Paul Jaray. Its rounded line with interior narrow and tapered toward the back reveals the great care with the aerodynamics.
The car on the left has four seats and mechanical Mercedes Benz. On the right is a two-seat sports chassis with front wheel drive Audi.
