If Nissan would insist in a 4-pot for the 1/2-ton, the 3.8L would still be more suitable to meet the local market requirements than the 2.8L, altough this V8 sounds as a good option too. BTW it would be quite odd the Ram 1500 featuring a V8 when the heavier models featured a 6-cylinder engine, since the amount of cylinders in an engine is often perceived as a prestige feature.
