New Guy from WI

Hello,
I found this site after reading about hypermilling and did a search. I have a 95 Toyota Tacoma 2wd extracab v6 with a 5 speed. I have always kept track of my mileage by writing it down in a little book that I keep in my glovebox. My dad used to do this and he said that it was a good way to see if your car was running properly. I have 177,700 miles on my truck and during the summer I have averaged 22-23mpg in everyday driving since I have owned it. I usually drive half city and half hwy. Since I have been trying some of the tips on this site and some from an email about how to fill up your gas tank, I have been averaging 27mpg. Today when I filled up I got 28.13mpg!!! I am now trying to see what else I can do to get it up to 30mpg. I am very happy with this since my truck is rated at 19/23mpg.
