Here's a little insight l got from a leader at a large Tier 1 supplier - One of the OEM's has a 30 bar (BMEP) turbo 3 cylinder prototype in a mid-size luxury vehicle that performs like a V6 and gets over 30 mpg highway. For reference, a typical naturally aspirated engine has 11-12 bar bmep, and turbos are around 20 bar.
