Yes, that's exactly your problem. As Mark Twain (probably) wrote "It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so." But why not take the trouble to either qualify your statements, or actually do some checking before making such howlers? You might actually have something useful to say, but people are going to judge you by the whole of your output. If you are so obviously wrong about such fairly simple things, why on Earth do you think anyone would respect your opinion on anything else?
