The big problem with compressed air anything is efficiency. At industrial air pressures of about 100 PSI, it takes about 4 hp of air compressor per 1 hp of air motor. At the high pressures (3000 to 5000 PSI) needed for a compressed air vehicle, the efficiency is worse.
Low efficiency = expensive to run.

22 Maverick: Summer 2022 burned 62.74 gallons in 3145.1 miles for 50.1 MPG. Winter 2023-2024 - 2416.7 miles, 58.66 gallons for 41 MPG.
