Hello All....97 civic LX

Hello,

My name is Jimmy Criswell. I just thought I would introduce myself to everyone. I just bought a 97 civic with 202,000 miles on it. Has a slight stumble occassionally on acceleration but runs exceptional other than that. So far I have only gone through one tank and got 39.97. I aired the tires up to 46. Max says 44...how far can you push this? I changed over to Mobil one synthetic 5W-30 although I am thinking of changing to a lower viscocity higher caliber oil. Has a stock air filter that is slightly dirty.

My beginning goal is to get up to the 45 range. I have begun practicing some of the techniques mentioned here starting about 2 years ago with my Rav4 which I averaged 31 mpg in.

What suggestions are there to improve mileage to this point without making major adjustments to the car as my budget is very limited at this point.
