I used to be able to get those engines MUCH cheaper than that... I had started importing pallets of them at one point based on apparent demand, and a bunch of people ended up forfeiting their deposits on them because they apparently decided they weren't as interested as they'd initially thought.

My price on them was $1100 picked up or $1400 shipped anywhere in the US with 50% down [$550] and the rest due within 2 weeks of me getting the engines on the pallet. I didn't lose any money on what I bought, but I'll be derned if I do something like that again.
